Meaning “heart”, the word Jai ใจ is widely used throughout Thai language to convey ardour, emotion and sincerity. As a small and truly dedicated charity, we put our heart into all that we do.

WHY JAI?

Used widely throughout Thai culture, Jai ใจ can be found in words such as brave, resilient, kind and strong. Not only are these characteristics that we admire in the street dogs we meet every day, they’re also qualities we strive to live by in all that we do.

Our name reflects the passion and dynamism that powers us forward.

AND WHAT IS JAI DOG RESCUE?

Jai Dog Rescue is our promise to the street dogs of Thailand: they can rely on us, no matter what life may throw our way.

That’s because we believe that every stray has its day. No matter how disadvantaged their start in life, we’re dedicated to a future in which every dog can experience health and happiness. We work tirelessly, through seasons of stifling heat and torrential monsoons, to care for dogs who have nobody else.

We’re committed to transforming the lives of street dogs in Thailand, and are honoured to have you here with us!

JAI MISSION: TRANSFORMING THE LIVES OF STREET DOGS

Life is tough for a dog on the streets of Thailand. Disease is rife, the climate is unforgiving, and competition for territory and food is fierce. To make matters worse, stray dogs are at a staggeringly high risk of injury or death caused by road traffic accidents and neglect. Whether it’s the threat of lethal disease such as parvovirus, canine distemper or TVT, or the harrowing injuries and disabilities caused by the realities of life on the streets, we’ve seen first-hand the very great need for drastic transformation.

But we never shy away from rolling up our sleeves and getting stuck in to help wherever we’re needed. From the sick and injured, to all in need of ongoing care and compassion, we provide the shelter, food, medication, and aid that truly transforms lives.

In spite of the thousands of dogs we’ve helped so far, we’ve made a commitment to all of Thailand’s strays. To break the cycle of suffering, there is a huge fight ahead of us: one that we can only win with your support.
