Daisy’s Story
Just before Christmas, an eight-week-old puppy was brought to us with severe chemical burns. We named her Daisy.
When Daisy arrived, her skin was raw, inflamed, and she was in pain. An antibiotic spray called Cyclo had been applied in an attempt to help but on a puppy’s fragile skin, it caused serious damage.
Our team was able to step in immediately to tend her wounds and ease her pain. Since then, Daisy has needed daily wound care, medication, pain and relief.
As her damaged skin repairs itself, further complications have emerged. One of Daisy’s ears has become fused to her body. Once her skin is strong enough, she will need surgery so vets can safely detach her ear and prevent long-term pain and restriction.
Daisy also suffered from malnutrition. As a result, her front legs are bowed and she will need careful support as she continues to grow and recover.
Her journey isn’t over yet – but she is safe, she is loved, and she is getting the care she needs.
