We might be a small charity, but we’ve got a pretty big ambition: to transform the lives of street dogs in Thailand.

No matter how disadvantaged their start in life, we’re dedicated to a future in which every dog can experience health and happiness. We work tirelessly through seasons of stifling heat and torrential monsoons, to care for dogs who have nobody else.

…But we don’t do it alone!

We’re supported by some truly incredible organisations, individuals, and teams who have helped us rewrite the story for countless strays, taking them from the most tragic of beginnings and setting them on the path to a healthier, happier future.

JEAN SAINSBURY ANIMAL WELFARE TRUST

In 2022, our rescue team on the ground saved 104 sick and injured dogs from the streets of Nakhon Nayok. Through our increased sterilisation efforts, our reputation grew across the province, and we experienced a rise in the number of emergency call-outs from residents and local rescuers. From the 49 dogs that we rescued in 2021, we saw a 112% increase in rescue cases in 2022.

From skin conditions to severe leg injuries caused by road traffic accidents, neglect or abuse, the team on the ground are exposed daily to situations that often require specialist medical help: this long-term treatment and after care at Jai’s Farm can be very costly for us.

In December 2022, to support the ongoing demand in rescue aid from the community, we were awarded a £10,000 grant from the Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust. This generous grant will help us to continue providing a lifeline to community dogs in need to the highest standard of care, contributing towards the rescue, treatment, and rehabilitation of our patients before they are returned to the streets.

We are extremely proud and grateful to Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust for pledging their support to our rescue mission and helping us to make an even bigger impact on the future lives of street dogs in Thailand!

BATTERSEA

In February 2022, we announced our partnership with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. The ambitious 5-year project is set to transform the lives of over 70,000 street dogs through our catch, neuter, vaccinate and release model.

As well as providing £1.8 million in funding, Battersea will share their expertise in running CNVR programmes to tackle stray dog and cat populations and setting up community engagement programmes that promote better relationships and safer interactions between people and dogs.

SPCA INTERNATIONAL

We’re delighted to be partnering with SPCA International who work tirelessly to advance the safety and wellbeing of animals. In May 2022, they generously awarded us a grant to help fund the emergency rescue and rehabilitation of Thailand’s street dogs.

We’re proud of the lifeline we offer dogs in desperate need: whether it’s the threat of lethal diseases like parvovirus, canine distemper or TVT, or the harrowing injuries and disabilities caused by road traffic accidents and neglect, Team Jai is on hand 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. But we can’t do it alone, which is why we’re so grateful to our friends at SPCA International for supporting our mission and helping us reach even more street dogs in need.

THE MINISTRY OF SOUND GROUP

We’re lucky to be supported by not one but two wonderful partner organisations: the Ministry of Sound club and The Ministry co-working space.

Not only do they play a huge role in the beginnings of Jai Dog Rescue, but they provide invaluable operational support that helps us keep the charity running on a day-to-day basis.  They also provide our remote team with a central UK base to call ‘home’, and make a generous annual donation which covers all our administrative overheads, including salaries.

It’s thanks to the Ministry of Sound Group that public donations don’t get swallowed up in running costs. Instead, they go straight to where it matters most: the dogs!

DANE WALKER, DNA VET CARE

DNA Vetcare was co-founded in 2006 by friend of Jai Dog Rescue and the Ministry of Sound Group, Dane Walker. The vet of choice for over 20,000 pet owners across South London and Kent, DNA Vetcare is a multi-award winning, independent group of surgeries sincerely committed to offering the very best in compassionate and professional veterinary care.

Thanks to a generous donation from Dane, we were able to treat Omo after he’d been hit by a car and left with lifechanging injuries. Dane’s donation covered his surgery, MRI, and wheelchair, and continues to fund Omo’s ongoing care on The Farm, including food, medication, and ongoing physiotherapy.
