Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!

Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Jai Dog Rescue to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Jai Dog Rescue we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the current tax year than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations it is my responsibility to pay any difference.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Jai Dog Rescue to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Jai Dog Rescue will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Jai Dog Rescue receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

NEW CHALLENGES

Jai Dog Rescue run daily clinics on the Farm and via a series of mobile teams to sterilise the stray dog population across the surrounding provinces. Our vets currently operate on an average of 17 dogs per day each and our increased presence in our local community has lead to a dramatic rise in the number of rescue cases referred to us. In the past year we have seen an increase 192% in rescue cases and that number is set to rise as our mobile teams expand to new communities.

Due to the complicated nature of surgery and specialist medical equipment needed, we often have to refer special cases to the local animal hospital. This can lead to extended stays at in hospital, longer recovery times and delayed diagnosis.

NEW EQUIPMENT

While our veterinary team is expertly trained to be able to perform complex medical testing and procedures in situ, we first need to advance our medical equipment to better prepare for the more complex rescue cases we continue to receive.

We are fundraising for the following pieces of equipment

  • 120 Electrosurgical Unit
  • Veterinary Biological Microscope

VETERINARY BIOLOGICAL MICROSCOPE

Having a microscope onsite will enable our vets to view blood and animal fecal samples to check fecal samples for parasites, diagnose skin conditions, take a closer look at urine samples (urinalysis), and other cytologies. Access to a microscope on site will allow for a faster diagnosis and more accurate treatment plan.

Tha Chang was severely emaciated, and suffering from multiple internal and external parasites, including mange. For dogs with skin issues like Tha Chang’s, it is important we are able to identify whether their condition is contagious to determine treatment plan and quarantine time.

120 ELECTROSURGERY UNIT

For patients in need of major surgery such as amputation, an electrosurgery unit can mean all the difference.  This piece of precision surgery equipment will improve the quality of soft tissue and amputation procedures allowing our skilled vets to preform complex surgeries at the Farm rather than transporting emergency rescue cases to our nearest veterinary hospital.

Dogs like Don Yo come to our clinic in need of urgent care and in her case, surgery was the only available option for a chance at a happy life. Born with a limb difference, her malformed leg became a hindrance as it scraped along the ground causing infection, inflammation and considerable pain.
