Like all rescue dogs, Goh Goh has a remarkable tale to tell. He’s lived to share his story with you, and that’s all thanks to his rescue dog superpowers!
Goh Goh’s Jai Dog Superpower is ‘Jai Yen’ [ใจเย็น] which means: chilled
Abandoned as a young pup, Goh Goh wouldn’t have made it to adulthood had he not been rescued. Despite his rough start in life, he’s forgotten all his worries!Sponsor me
Hi, I’m Goh Goh
Sawadee krup! I’m Goh Goh, and I’m proof that all puppies are worth fighting for!
I feel like I’ve lived at The Farm for all my life…and that’s nearly true. But my first few weeks in this world were a different story indeed. When I was just a tiny puppy, I was abandoned at the side of a busy road with my siblings. We were only a month old, and we had no idea what was happening to us. I tried to be brave, but I didn’t really know what I was meant to do without my Mum.
In the end, I plucked up the courage to go looking for food – there was litter at the side of the road that smelt pretty good and I thought that maybe I could eat that. But litter wasn’t the only thing in the road… I couldn’t believe it when huge, noisy machines started whizzing past and I ran back to the banana tree that me and my siblings had made our base. Over the next few days, things went from bad to worse. I watched 4 of my 6 siblings die and I was sure I’d be next.
Hope at last
But then something amazing happened: a team of people from Jai Dog Rescue turned up and scooped us into their truck. We were a little nervous at first, but they were really friendly and had lots of yummy treats so I knew I could trust them.
This was me on the day I was rescued. I was scared, hungry and in danger of being hit by a car.
I was brought back to The Farm with my brothers, but there was no way I was going to share my first proper dinner!
I love it here on The Farm. Jai Dog Rescue has helped me forget everything that happened in my first few weeks and now I know nothing but happiness.
I'm one of the lucky ones
Puppies get dumped all the time here in Thailand – literally thousands of us each year are left by roadsides to fend for ourselves. The fact that only 3 of us survived is proof of how hard things can be, and I’m just so grateful that I was lucky enough to be rescued.
I’m now a fully fledged resident here on The Farm, and don’t plan on leaving anytime soon: I know which side my bread’s buttered! I love play-fighting, running, barking at strangers and taking long naps in the shade when it gets too hot. The one downside is that the humans here seem obsessed with cleanliness: they expect us to have a shower every single week! It’s quite common that you’ll find me running for cover when I see the hosepipes come out, and when I do get tracked down and subjected to a dreaded “wash”, I’m quick to roll around in the nearest dirt patch I can find to remedy the mistake.
I love my life here and only hope that many more puppies will be as lucky as I was.
Am I your perfect match?
I might not be able to come and live with you, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be your perfect dog!
If you’d like to sponsor me, the lovely people at Jai Dog Rescue will send you regular updates and pictures to let you know how your generous support is helping me live my best life.Set up your monthly sponsorship
Why I need sponsoring
Most puppies who are taken off the street at such a young age are really well suited to adoption. After all, we tend to forget what happened to us quite quickly, and we find it easier to get used to new friends and surroundings. But I think I’m just a little too set in my ways.
I can be a bit bossy around some of the other dogs, especially my brother Di Di (but who doesn’t squabble with their siblings?) – I don’t think I’m being bossy, I’m just trying to help keep the others in line! But I’ve grown so used to life on The Farm and the dynamics here, that I think I’d struggle to meet lots of new dogs and people.
I’ve got a really special bond with Mike and I’d miss him terribly if I couldn’t live with him any more! So even if that means putting up with my big brother, I’d love it if you could help me live out the rest of my days on The Farm.
What your sponsorship will fund
Your sponsorship makes sure I’m well looked after here on The Farm. I love my meals, so I’m grateful for every delicious dinner you send my way! And I suppose I’d be happy to share some of the food you fund with my pals here.
But more than just my own care, I want to be an ambassador for all stray puppies. Did you know that 80% of dogs born on the street won’t make it to adulthood? It scares me to think just how short and scary my life could have been if it weren’t for Jai Dog Rescue.
It would make me so happy to think that your sponsorship could help rescue other stray puppies, and take them away from the struggle that lies ahead of them. The Farm is a great place to look after them while they get ready to find a home of their own, and I’m happy to lend a hand!
