Unsung Heroes
Our Partnership
There are an estimated 6 to 10 million stray or semi-roaming dogs in Thailand, many suffering a lifetime of hunger and neglect, and until now, resource to combat the issue has been scarce.
In 2022, we have had the pleasure to partner with Battersea Dog’s and Cat’s Home to establish an exciting programme to neuter and vaccinate over 70,000 stray dogs in central Thailand over a five year period, protecting these animals from disease and improving their life expectancy. Through this project we are seeking to reach those dogs in greatest need of support, creating a life for stray dogs that allows them to experience a safe, stable, and pain-free existence, living harmoniously alongside the Thai community.
What we have achieved
With our partnership entering it’s second year, we are proud to share that we have met every milestone and neutered a grand total of 2,340 dogs!
What the future holds
Lessons we have learned
The biggest lesson of 2022 was the unexpected impact our CNVR programme would have in raising our profile in the
community resulting in the explosive growth of our rescue work. During 2022 we rescued 104 critically injured
animals, an increase of 166% over 2021.
This trend will accelerate as our programme expands across the province, and we now project that in 2026 around
1,192 animals will need urgent medical attention. As a result, we have decided to expand our on-site clinic and to
provide further kennelling to allow an increase in residents at the Farm. Section three of this report includes plans
and financial projections for this which we would welcome the opportunity to discuss with you. The first year of our
joint project has been very rewarding and reinforced the critical need for our work in a community which has such
limited welfare resources. The opportunity to help animals in Thailand is limitless, together we have made a strong
start.
