Arrival At Our Clinic

Tha Chang arrived severely emaciated, infested with parasites, and suffering from advanced mange – a painful skin condition caused by microscopic mites.

His body was weak, his skin was inflamed, and he was exhausted from life on the streets.

At first, we weren’t sure how he would respond to treatment.

But we began immediately – medicated baths to soothe his skin, treatment for parasites, and carefully prepared nutritious meals to help him regain strength.

Slowly, things began to change.

Recovery and Transformation

Day by day, Tha Chang improved.

His fur started to grow back, his body filled out, and the constant discomfort he once lived with began to fade.

But the biggest change wasn’t just physical – it was emotional.

Tha Chang slowly learned trust again.

He went from a terrified, defensive street dog into one who would wait for familiar faces, enjoy gentle attention, and even happily accept food and treats from visitors.

Over time, we saw a side of him that the streets had never allowed to exist.

He became what we affectionately called our “grumpy old man” – still independent, still a little stubborn, but finally relaxed, comfortable, and at peace.

Tha Chang spent the last three years of his life safely at our sanctuary.

For the first time, he was not surviving day to day on the streets.

He was safe. He was fed. He was cared for.

He had routine, comfort, and people who knew him and loved him exactly as he was.

Very sadly, Tha Chang later passed away due to chronic kidney failure.

In his final months, his condition declined despite ongoing veterinary care and support. It was not something that could be reversed, but we made sure he remained comfortable, pain-managed, and surrounded by familiar people who cared deeply for him.
