Hi, I’m Visaka

Hello, my name is Visaka, and I’m a gentle senior soul living at Jai Dog’s sanctuary. I’ve been through a lot in my life, but I’m finally safe now, surrounded by care and kindness.

My Rescue Story

I was rescued from a housing estate in Chonburi back in 2022. When the Jai team first found me, I was in a very bad condition. I had severe, maggot-infested wounds on my back caused by untreated scald injuries that looked like they may have been from boiling water.

No one knows exactly what happened to me, but it was clear I had suffered deeply and had been left without help for some time.

Thankfully, a kind resident stepped in and made sure I received emergency treatment by calling the Jai Dog team. I wouldn’t have survived without that moment of compassion.

My Recovery

My condition was very serious when I first arrived at Jai Dog. I needed urgent wound care, ongoing treatment, and a long recovery process. The vet team worked hard to treat my injuries and ease my pain, helping me slowly heal both inside and out.

It was a difficult beginning, but I was finally safe.

Life at Jai

Today, I’m around ten years old and living peacefully with my senior dog friends at the shelter. I enjoy the calm rhythm of sanctuary life, where I can finally rest without fear.

I do have canine epilepsy, which means I experience seizures and need daily medication to stay stable. I also need regular veterinary check-ups to make sure I remain healthy and comfortable.

Because of my medical needs and my age, I am not able to be rehomed. Instead, Jai Dog will always be my forever sanctuary, where I will be cared for for the rest of my life.

A Gentle Soul

Despite everything I’ve been through, I am a quiet and gentle girl. I enjoy peaceful days, soft beds, and the company of my sanctuary family. I have learned that safety and kindness do exist, and I cherish every calm moment I have now.

By sponsoring me, you are helping ensure I receive the lifelong care I need after everything I’ve survived. You become part of my journey, giving me safety, dignity, and love for the rest of my life.

Thank you for helping dogs like me who no longer have anywhere else to go.

Why I need sponsoring

I rely on daily medication to manage my epilepsy and need ongoing veterinary care to stay well. My treatments, check-ups, and special care are essential to keeping me comfortable and stable.

As a lifelong sanctuary dog, I will always need support to make sure I can continue living safely and peacefully at Jai. Your sponsorship helps provide my medication, vet visits, and daily care needs.

What your sponsorship will fund

As a dog who nearly lost everything, I know just how important freedom is. And I’ve found it by the bucket-load on The Farm. Not only do I have the freedom to live without the fear of further pain or suffering, but my wheelchair gives me the most important gift of all: the freedom to move.

Your sponsorship helps me, and other disabled dogs like me, to keep rolling through life! My wheelchair is a lifeline for me, but I know it’s something of a luxury: many disabled dogs can only dream of being able to run freely again. What’s more, having a member of staff at the shelter who can strap me in and take me for a spin means I can exercise daily, and enjoy life to its fullest.

Thanks to your support, I know they’ll always be someone to look after me on The Farm. You’ll also be helping to provide specialist equipment and therapy to any new arrivals who’ve suffered debilitating injuries…and I’ll be on hand to help show them the ropes and adjust to their new life.
